My real first meeting with pain

Today I met pain for the first time in my life. I've been pretty healthy my whole life having never broken an arm or a leg, I was born w/o wisdom teeth and having no major problems except the occasional monthly pain due to the lack of egg fertilization ( guys due the math and think). Today I had a "minor" surgical procedure and by "minor" is nobody telling me this was painful as hell, just telling me this was routine and that millions of women do it every day. Omitting the gory details, I can only vouch that I suffered from a vasovagal syncope* due to the excruciating pain. Now, I'm on bed rest for a couple days recuperating.

I have to thank Georgette, Ingrid, Jennifer, Mom, K@iu, J and K for their support and good wishes in this ordeal. Guys, thanks for your attentions and good vibes. I only wish people have such a wonderful support system. All the love in the world from me to you....

Now to finish off a pain quote:

“Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts forever.”
-Lance Armstrong

*A vasovagal episode or vasovagal response is a malaise mediated by the vagus nerve. When it leads to fainting, it is called a vasovagal syncope, which is the most common type of fainting.

There are a number of different syncope syndromes which all fall under the umbrella of vasovagal syncope. The common element among these conditions is the central mechanism leading to loss of consciousness. The differences among them are in the factors that trigger this mechanism.
