All about Tavi

Proud mama
Dear friends, Michelle and Norein, continue to make stride. New York Fashion Week is calling. Yep, they are going against the big guys and will be presenting in fashion's most important platform next month. I still have the first dress I purchased from them, a vintage in the making. I know they are going to rock the shit out of NYC. These are good people and yes, they deserve this and much more. As for me, I feel like my kid just graduated from kindergarten with all honors ready for the big school. Girls, you are in my prayers.Much luv.

Keep in mind, that one: I have never ever own a pair which make me wanting them even more and two:I really need to think about my closet and the possible outfits. After a weekend of soul searching and chilling either at the beach or at my house, I got the perfect gift in my inbox, The Zoe Report starts tomorrow! As many of you know I heart Ms Zoe and will totally move to LA in order to be her assistant.

Cheap fashion
This was my facebook status update yesterday:
my days of cheap fashion are over: Forever opened
I was happy to see that I was not alone.Friends replied to my feeling. For years every trip to the US, either business or pleasure, involved a trip to Forever 21, the mecca of cheap fashion. Critiqued my many in the fashion world for their knockoffs and loved by many liked me who have a limited fashion budget, the giant chain store have catered and helped us for a quick and sometimes disposable wear.
Now, it opened in Puerto Rico and went to validate this with my own two eyes. It is bitter sweet feeling. Behind were the days were local boutiques traveled to Miami for replenished their stock only to quadruple the price. I'm so glad that abuse is over. But also behind were the days of a great $12 party dress ( only Geo and Jenni know the dress). So what to do? easy.Go to my original plan of simple but beautiful splurges. I think that it goes better with me...

The September Issue
If you follow my blog, you know I love fashion. Being raised in the retail garment industry made me aware that fashion can changed people's perspective in a second. As a teenager I remembered spending my limited allowance buying Vogue, not knowing that a supernatural force called Anna Wintour produced such magic in an utopia that she created. Now a new documentary about Vogue and Wintour is making me salivate. Just another thing to do while I'm in NYC in the upcoming weeks ( not that I'm complaining).
