The Hangover- the review

At my sister's and bil* insistence I watched The Hangover, the 2nd grossest R in movie history. I was skeptic due to my lack of interest in American Comedy ( I have never, and I say this with pride, have never seen a Ben Stiller movie) but The Hangover, was my antidote to a long work Friday. Not to give something away, this IS the movie of the summer and the beauty of it all: it was a low budget film with a hilarious cast.If you are in a rut, don't hesitate and RUN to see this movie.

This totally explains my obsession with Russell Brand

The Daily Mail reports that men with a sense of humor are more likely to be seen as intelligent, more honest, and better material for a relationship or friendship. In order to arrive at this conclusion, Psychologist Kristofor McCarty asked 45 women the personalities behind a series of personal ads, some of which were funny and some of which were simply factual. Although the descriptions contained no information about the man's IQ, women were more likely to rate the humorous ad-writers as smart and trustworthy.
McCarty presented his research at the British Psychological Society's annual conference. McCarty said that there is a "kind of halo effect. The funny guys appear to be getting everything," which they use to their advantage. "For a man that doesn't look like Brad Pitt, it gives them a bit of hope," he said.

Men are wuss

Ashton Kutcher gets waxed because his double stunt is waxed and for insurance purposes it was safer for him to get the hair removed than do his own stunt. ~Girls, enjoy!

Because YOU can laugh at yourself as well

You grow up the day you have your first real laugh, at yourself.
~Ethel Barrymore ...
One of my friends had a mortifying moment in one of Puerto Rico's biggest media outlets, for a moment she was mortified, her mom tried to make her feel better saying that her shoes looked great and all, but what can she really do?... simple laugh!!!.

When bad spelling f*(%ks Facebook
In this recurrent post we make fun of bad spelling in Facebook status updates.( I apologize to my all English speaking friends, some Spanish mistakes may pop up in this list). We protect the names of the ignorant for obvious reasons. ( You should buy for a dictionary with your tax return, people)Here we go:
- Lidership ( as in leadership)
- Convensión ( convención-yep it had the accent)
- Everithing ( as in everything)
- Vacasiones ( vacaciones-how can't you know how write such a wonderful word)
- Asensor ( as in ascensor)
- Acavandome (as in acabandome)
- The winner: govierno (as in gobierno)
Keep writing people, I need material for the next one!

Farts: the new treatment for erectile disfunction

Italian scientists have discovered that hydrogen sulphide, found in rotten eggs and human farts, stimulates erections when injected into human penii. According to Professor Giuseppe Cirino of the University of Naples Federico II:
"We found that hydrogen sulphide is involved in human penile erection. That was proved in this study. Of course, the hydrogen sulphide pathway represents a new therapeutic target for erectile dysfunction and it should be possible in future to develop drugs that either deliver hydrogen sulphide or that control the hydrogen sulphide production."

A proud guaynabitch-a story of laughter

As scheduled, last night I went to see my friend Roy's standup comedy Cacos vs. Guaynabichos*. I made in time to meet Ingrid and her husband and score a prime time table in the dark theater cafe ( as always partner in crime, blog editor and styling consultant Geo was with me). I have to tell you it was AMAZING. People, this was the perfect antidote to whatever busy week I had. Everything was played perfectly and the audience responded. Roy's delivery on the different human interactions we face each day as puertorricans was delivered in perfect timing, with great amounts of real life imitations and mixed with well edited hilarious video clips.
As I keep going back to last night jokes I found myself laughing out loud ( yep, Carmela is looking at me wondering if I'm going insane again). I won't give any material out of respect of Roy and Joanne ( his life partner but most imporantly my friend from elementary school- always as sweet as I remember) But I give one piece of advice: People, if you have the chance to see Roy next week, dont miss the chance to enjoy great dark humor and self deprecating comedy and at the same time you support the upcoming artists of our generation.
And to end such a wonderful night, as soon as I logged on to my computer, I felt a hug from Jesus himself, a new episode of Pot Psychology!!!!!!!!!!
(*Cacos are ghettos/Guaynabichos are WASP's)

Friday!!!!!!!!!

It's been a slow blog week for me. I've been stuck with my job's new website management system and after dealing with technical, cache and uploading situations, there is very few brain cells left to write about shallow, light stuff. So I'm going to recap some of my week's highlight.
1. Someone who vouched to never have facebook, found me and requested my friendship ( you know who you are)
2. I've been reading a lot of 25 randoms. But after an intense evaluation with Geo,we have to say the first one we read ( including mine), was the best one ever!!!. Kudos to the genius of K@u for having the gift of self evaluation EVA-H!!! ( it was so good, he got marriage proposals... from women).
3. True friendships holds together. Hanging with Aileen was certainly a week highlight
4.How two lamps made my day. Thanks Rafa for installing my lamps. I'm happy to say, I'm excited with my apt again.
5.The amount of people to self-deprecate is amazing. Tonight we are seeing my friend's Roy stand up. His comedy theme: Guaynabichos ( Puertorrican Wasp's)
6. Hi Kariliz!!!!!!!!!!! she's on bed rest for 10 weeks, please say hi
Current mood: Tired but standing
Current Obsession:Produce shopping ( I've been eating crap!!!-I'm craving oranges and tomates).
Currently listening to: So what from P!nk
Upcoming events: Stand up tonight, laundry, cooking, workout (Zumba with Patty), chilling

Joaquin Phoenix, the best guest on Letterman

Yesterday was very hectic for me and besides the usual stuff regarding celebrities, the economic stimulus and work, I found very little inspiration to blog. So today I logged to on Perez Hilton and already it made my day. Joaquin Phoenix, acting extraordinare, was on Letterman last night "promoting" his last film ( he retired from acting to pursue a career in, get this, hip hop). So if you need a few laughs to start your day off, click here for an amazing out of body experience.
