My weekend highlight

So I met my first crush. Yes, that is John Travolta. See my idiot face? that is me after confessing my girl love to him. It was very random, we were at a party at the Ritz. We knew he was around due to some guy who was gloating. Our constant need for A/C made us go to the lobby. Fast forward and suddenly, I spotted him. I snubbed Geo and she looked up and she started hyperventilating*, then I got nervous due of her reaction. It was a blur. I kept calling him sir. He posed for a picture, I had EVIDENCE!!! He was most gentle guy ever. So happy I was with Geo since we share the same ridiculous obsession with everything Grease, Saturday Night Fever and Staying Alive. We are also have another crush in common, but that is another post( Baryshnikov anyone?)

So my weekend highlight was immortalized,( it could last more than a weekend, maybe until the US Open). Who can say that you get to meet your real first love? Not many...

*not usual in her- after all she was a professional dancer, not like me who stills thinks that I have a chance in stardom-well in reguetton stardom,at least

I die and went to fall/holiday heaven

On Friday,I had the honor to once again admire my friends Michelle and Norein’s talent as they presented their Fall/Holiday 2009 collection for their label Ecliptica at the San Juan Fashion week. As they presented one of their best work to date, I realized how far they have become. Long were the days when they sew at their parent’s garage in Dorado, now they work in a magnificent loft and they have achieved what many can’t have: respect in their industry as one of the most promising talents, a strong work ethic and unlimited creativity.

Michelle and Norein became full circle as they went back to their roots presenting a lace heaven with intricate chiffon gowns in an array of beige ( with red- amazing),purples, blacks and whites. They respect their clients enough to understand that we want to look sexy cool in our nightlife wardrobes without much fuzz. Their choice of jewelry from Alberto, whom I met that night, made all the looks have a glamorous tour de force while being relevant in our scene.
Thanks guys for an amazing time and keep the amazing work.

Weekend recap

Patty is right, people with hangover are funny. And I was pretty funny on Saturday after a night of maybe too much grapefruit and vodkas. I was fine, suddenly I went dooown. I do remember having a very deep conversation with that guy who is having a textual realtionship with one of the BF's about initimacy. We both agreed that cuddling in more intimate than the actual act of hookey pokey. Maybe it has to do that maybe you are too vulnerable.... food for thought.Anyway, after a rough morning and a lousy afternoon, I pulled myself out of the bed and made my way to the beach to hang with Georgie and Tania ( and her co-workers) to celebrate his 30th b-day( actually it's today, happy b-day bro!!!). I got the most exciting news, I got invited to the Tommy Torres concert by Oscar, a old and dear friend ( I dated his brother years ago). It was great, a shame that Oscar and me are not in love, compared to the couples around us. Sunday was lazy ( I needed the time at home), napped, cooked, usual stuff. I missed a great day tanning, but I'll make it up next weekend.Spend some time with Mia, who always makes me feel better

Weekend recap

So I had a very entertaining weekend. Friday started with Geo, Jaen and Carlos I in Jose Enrique with the best grapefruit vodkas the Placita could offer. To my surprise (it has happened twice) I bumped into my sister Tania with the best brother in law in the world Georgie, my fitness guru Patty and the always hilarious Stephanie with people from their workplace. Later we moved into Piropo where my friend Cagiu pitched Georgie an arranged marriage between his son and Mia ( under serious consideration;kid is gorgeous). Then I kicked into responsible big sister gear and went to San Sebastian to pick up Rebeca and Christian. I have to say, her pickup went smooth ( thank God!).

I spend Saturday in bed cuddling with Carmela ( rain helped) and made plans Joel for a night out. After a nice tapas dinner with Joel ( thanks again, babe), Anushka and friends, we headed to Pa'l Cielo for some nice 80's vintage pop music. Hanging with Joel always involves laughter, jokes and some nice people watching comments. Anushka is always sweet and fun, but we need to compliment her for the most original lighter in history, an Agatha Ruiz de la Prada fish.

Sunday was a great day to open the beach office with Geo and we headed there for some "hard work", a ceviche lunch followed ( sorry J!). We made plans to go see Doubt in Fine Arts Cafe. By coincidence, we met Joel,Anushka,Edwin and Carlos Osvaldo. There was no seat left except first row, that we dubbed "first class" in order for us to believe that even at the movies, we are still VIP (didn't work). Movie was great and intense. As always Meryl Streep always delivers, she being the first lady of acting ( in my humble opinion, Cate Blanchett comes in close second).

So this week, posses hard work at the office and workouts ( my knee will behave, my knee will behave,my knee will behave). Very excited for Obama's presidential pledge and the ceased fire truce in Gaza.

So now I'll leave you with some words from Ashton Kutcher's blog on The Huffington Post about the Presidential Pledge: "We have gathered a group of individuals who share the courage to pledge to our president, and the world at large, what it is that they are willing to do, give, or sacrifice, in an effort to help their fellow man. Our hope is that this effort will inspire others to do the same, with individuals posting their initiatives within their communities. This is not a selfless utopian action. In fact it is a very selfish one. By improving the lives of those who surround us we will in effect improve our own.

I'm a sucker for period romantic dramas

Last night after a nice ceviche fest, I went with Geo and Baby to see the The Duchess starring the lovely Keira Knigthley. Film is the story of socialite Georgina Cavendish, Duchess Devonshire and features her power in politics, her sense of fashion, her affair with Charles Grey and the birth of her illegitimate daughter, Eliza. Among her descendants are the late Princess Diana ( this blogger's favorite) and Sarah, Duchess of York ( through her daughter's Eliza side).Don't miss it

Weekend recap

At last a sunny weekend in PR , after many rain episodes and a dumb hurricane warnings, the blonde one appeared for a sunny Sunday at Ocean. But let's start from the beginning. Friday was great @ Jose Enrique. Went out with K' cousin and his friend from Venezuela. After an amazing dinner, we went to La Concha and to my surprise saw George... as in George Clooney. Small in stature, mustache gives him a 70's style flair. Still it was yummy. On Saturday, duty called. Mini Tennis in the morning, meeting in the afternoon and babysitting in the evening. Sunday was the perfect beach day. Went alone but after ten minutes, partners in crime Lorna and Cynthia joined me for nice afternoon at the beach. We ended in Tijuana's ( elda joined us as well). Weekend ended w an ice cream date at Ben & Jerry's...(insert smile emoticon here)
