Back to normal

The past weeks have been crazy on both personal and work. Today I felt that it was the first day of some normal sense and boy does it feel good. As many as you know, last week was my b-day and coincidentally the busiest week of my year, due the national open tennis tournament, which I help run. I managed to squeezed some fun, due to my own predicament that life is not always about work and I have to say that my peeps didn't let me down. I was a lot of fun and most important the out pour of love was AMAZING. More celebrations are due. So I'll keep you posted. Work was a smooth compared to other years. Over time I have become close to some players and they make my day go faster ( well except all those three setters) and I laugh at their teenage and college stories. I have seen most of these kids graduated from high school and college. Their gratefulness help me through the week. So back to the normal routine. I have today and tomorrow off which means I need time to reconnect to my routine and myself. Today I woke up without an alarm clock. Went to the beach, had lunch at mom's and went to the movies with her( The Proposal- after the amazing movies I have seen on Netflix... you can wait for this one on DVD) and had a very productive nap. Walked Carmela. Dog people from my neighborhood missed me they say. Currently I'm reading Twilight and have this interesting recipe from Orangette waiting for me on my fridge. I'm ditching workout today but promise to get back to that sooner rather than later. I have a couple of due project due for this month ( tackling my rss feed is one). which I will tackel.

I'm just happy that the storm came and went and I'm still standing

Turning my Monday around

It started with my outfit. The jacket that I have ironed the night before still looked crumbly. I had the worst Monday in months that included a heavy dose of anxiety binge*, ineptitude, lack of professionalism and to top it all off, a nice tension headache. I was mad and frustrated. But on my way home, my day started to get better. After words of encouragement from mom, I get home and voila!: in my mailbox had two new DVD's from Netflix ( I'm on the free trial version) and my new used copy of Booky wook by British hottie, Russell Brand that I bought on a super sale on Amazon. After all that day binge, I was still hungry so I decided to splurge: white rice, white stewed beans, tomato and onion salad and panko breaded tilapia. I went to pick my sis from work and a nice dose of Mia love made it all better. The cherry on the top: I finished The Reader with Kate Winslet and some Carmela cuddling. So how did my Tuesday started? I lost a pound!

~Have a great day!

This will help become skinny

I found this website called This is why you're fat. Their logo is were dreams become hear attacks. I think I just saved you $1,200 on Jenny Craig.

(By the way finding a nice picture was the hardest part- I tried to keep this blog visually appealing and their pics are nasty)

no hay nadie como tu-calle 13 ft. cafe tacuba

Since they started I loved Calle 13's Rene and his raunchiness and their tongue-in-cheek approach to everyday situations ( I have to admit I didn't care much for the 2nd album). Now they are back with a third album Los de atras vienen conmigo and I LOVED their new single, No hay nadie como tu. Enjoy!

To make this weekend....

Goop! Gwyneth Paltrow's lifestyle newsletter came with this interesting and easy recipe for sandwiches or steamed vegetables....

SOY AND SESAME MAYONNAISE
Beyond quick and simple but full of flavor. Also a nice dip for steamed vegetables.

MAKES: 1/2 cup (more than enough for 4 sandwiches)
TIME: 1 minute!

1/2 cup prepared mayonnaise (or Veganaise – the only substitute that tastes good)
2 teaspoons shoyu (soy sauce)
2 teaspoons roasted sesame oil
Whisk everything together.
